Okay, So Now I Am A Little Nervous...

Jean Warner linked to my blog. Which is great - I love reading her blog - except my blogging skills pale in comparison to not only Jean but to well, anyone over the age of 6. More importantly, I have admired Jean and her work to advance the status of women in Oklahoma since I first met her when I was a participant in NEW Leadership in 2005.

To clarify, for Jean's thoughts, I work in government affairs for an energy company based in Tulsa, and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Political Management from George Washington University.

Since I work in politics, and was a new media "guru" (I use that term loosely) in a short past life, I would really be into this. Except I have one problem... I love news, I work in politics, I love talking about current events and policy... but I can never think of an actual topic to write about on a blog that has any general purpose in the world.

So, when it comes to blogging, I typically concentrate on nonsense such as little laptops, funny stories, and cupcakes. Which is cool, because in my the very back of my brain, that's what is usually floating around (especially the cupcakes...mmmmm). Sure, I am down to business when I am working, and I take what I do VERY seriously, but hey - it's the silly little musings that make life worth living, right? I think so.

Because I am a little self-conscious in my lack of serious blogging skills, I promise to be a little more deep on here every once in awhile. Trust me, I'll get on my soapbox and drive you nuts.

But always in the back of my mind will be the nagging voice telling me to watch what I say, that much of the information I come across in my work life is sensitive, and that most importantly, once you post something on the internet, you can never take it back.

So, here's to going out on a limb sometimes.

And thanks for the link, Jean. I look forward to working with you - and I love being a part of the Oklahoma Women's Coalition!

I want to become part of Oklahoma Women's coalition! Sounds awesome! How does one get involved in that?
